Durian (top and left) and Jackfruit (bottom right) in Thailand. Durian stinks and tastes a bit like rotten egg for the first split second then it becomes a very creamy almost like a custard. I heard the best durian is in Borneo. This jackfruit was crisp and sweet.
Nicaraguan Mamey - very rich and creamy. These were not too easy to find, depends what part of the country you are in.
Nicaraguan Sapote (called Mamey in Mexico) - rich, sweet, heavy and creamy. It has various possible medicinal values. Noni is used to cure everything, tastes fermented.

re Durian -there are 4 main types grown in Thailand - and then some wild ones. Those of the domesticated variety are MON TAWNG(Golden Pillows),KAN YAO,KRA-DUM-THONG, and CHA-NEE. While there are sevearl cross-strains have been developed over the years these are the originals. The Mon Tawng variety is my personal favorite and the most expensive to buy in Thailand.I usually describe Durian as having a vanilla custard flavor combined with a garlicky taste.
